The idea for this website is to showcase articles, photographs, stories and writings of a maritime or nautical bias although anything goes. The majority of the works held within are of my own making, but a small yet growing percentage has been contributed by other interested parties. I hope one-day that this website will become the center-point for budding writers, poets, etc to leave their works, hopeful that in-time they will be published in print and scraping in loads of dosh! But until that time, well............. let others enjoy what has been written and for free!

Should any publishers or editors want to use material each request is considered on an individual basis, the outcome often depending upon the scope and play of the interested parties. As a general rule one-time reprint rights to not-for-profit websites and informative smaller sites are condoned! Companies, print magazines and publications whose sole aim is to increase the year end profits are required to pay going rates, etc! And in all cases suitable reference and return to this website must be included in the final copy. With regard to the authors who have kindly allowed me to showcase their works here, any onward use of their works is solely up to them and onward use remains at their discretion entirely.

Personally speaking

One day I intend to write a novel! Until then and as I continue to climb ladders within the maritime industry, I post these articles for free and for fun only. I hope through this website that people from all over the world will enjoy my works and come back to read more as time goes by. I ask for no financial reward, I put in an amazing amount of effort; all that I ask is for constructive criticism and nice comments! And for nobody to abuse my work by blatantly copying and pasting; by stealing my copyright and ownership - having written the 'bally' things in the first place.

Whilst writing my articles, at no point do I attack or make reference to those people that I have met or know about. At no time do I write about or make pointed reference (in a negative way) to any company that I work or have worked for. In fact I distance myself totally from making any literary statement on or about any person alive or dead. I do though frequently use scathing attack against governments and large powerful bodies, I do sometimes tend to write negatively when faced with particular cultures and prevailing attitudes but individuals have no need to feel slighted. Characters used in my writings are all fictional and do not represent or refer to any person on this planet.

Seamania the website is SeaDolby.com. Unfortunately between dreaming up the site, learning HTML and getting around to finding a server, somebody had snapped up my chosen domain name of Seamania. It was too late to change and so since the first days confusion has reigned, mostly within my own mind, as to what the title of the website actually is.
