The World Outside
Not everything important happens in this environment. In fact this average street does not represent the product of all that occurs on earth. Going one step further, if an average style poll was taken it might come to light that as far as the world stage goes, no particular body from any particular street made any particular contribution to any particluar world matter at all!
The next door neighbor never stepped foot on the moon now did he? The old battle-axe over the wall isn't the mother of Sylvester Stallone and the guy who leers permanently out of his window at number 33 was never a spy for the KGB!
There is an enormous world out there and it can be found when the end of this street is broached from the inside out, the path to the rest of the world. It meanders gently out of the block before accelerating onwards through the estate and rushing to the city. It goes further; whole regions, countries even and a continent or two or more exist! And maybe, just maybe in one of those millions of sother treets that litter the world is an interesting person, a hero or a madman! Perhaps amongst those other millions of environments is an interesting event in motion or history is in the process of being made.
"It certainly isn't in my street"
