As a little introduction from me.........

I have lived away from Britain for over 10yrs, before that my stints on British soil existed purely to see my family before adventure and the sea sent me to an airport departure lounge! Since leaving school the UK has merely been a staging post for my work and travels to foreign lands. I have never forgotten my roots; but over time the magnetism and attraction of all that is British has declined from active interest through to 'a shrug of the shoulders'.

Having lived abroad in a variety of countries and places, from Singapore, Germany, Taiwan and on the remote Pacific Island of Tuvalu and having visited hundreds more towns and cities across the globe, I have met and been involved with a variety of different cultures, lives and livelihoods and I have conversed with an extreme eclectic mix of peoples and races. For the first decade of my wandering lifestyle I never questioned what I bumped into and just accepted all with an open mind and a warm smile. But slowly, and often after having returning to the UK from my travels I started to look around my own country and the people within and to wander!

The recent British involvement in Iraq, the constant lapdog style foreign policy that has become so much part of our current esteemed leaders doctrine, and the governments wavering and unsteady footholds on every domestic policy imaginable has long since stopped being a joke. British Rail, Royal Mail and the Health System (not to mention Education, Immigration and the Channel Tunnel) are a few of the potholes that are rapidly becoming craters. The fact that America seems to have more power over the direction Britain takes than does Europe or for that matter the UK Government is ultimatley pitiful, but worse still is the fact that the British public lets it happen!

Class orientated apathy, McDonald's produced obesity, unnaturally unhealthy materialism and spiraling mobile phone addiction! Alcoholism, racism, drug addiction and Americanism!

These words describes best the British public, more so than any others that I can think of! Singapore gives to me: safety, racial harmony, wealth and cleanliness. Taiwan gives to me healthy eating, long lives and the Chinese way of looking after ones own family everywhere and for always. The Germans love to argue (over a beer), the French have love and the Spanish have delicious hams, the Tuvaluans' who may rely on donations from the rest of the world to survive have a lovely blue azure lagoon in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and not a care in the world! Of course, there are some wonderful things about Britain: I miss the big lumps of Cheshire and Wenslydale cheeses that I used to devour: the Scottish Highlands and the Yorkshire Dales one of many lovely scenic spots, but for the most part these are remnants of a past and are 'things' that just tag along with the current malaise that has overtaken all else.

As war efforts in the Middle East continue under the banner of democracy yet are so blatantly for oil, as the worlds resources shrink uncontrollably, as the ozone layer depletes and as the world does nothing to stop this decline Britain could be at the forefront of change! The British have it in themselves to lead the world forwards in clean power, in alternative energy, in reducing emissions, in using replenishable resources and in research and development of clean machinery! The British people once lead others and they have it inside of themselves to do so again!

My opinions are after all just opinions! But in a little way I hope that some people having read one or two, an eye here or there maybe opened wider. I hope that in some way my honest and straightforward opening up of events and happenings around the world may give to some a light at the end of the tunnel.

All opinions, some that may seem overly biased or pointed, are from my brain and hand alone! They will appear on this website as and when I see fit and without reference to a calendar or watch. Months may pass without addition, yet one day may see reams suddenly uploaded. My writings will not soley revolve around Britain, any event large or small from any corner of the globe may find itself under scathing attack, stripped bare and opened up as a scavanger on duty. No limits apply here!

I do apologize to some readers in advance; to Americans who may feel that they are subject to more than their fair share of attack within, but well, such is life; to British politicians who actually think for themselves (if there are any); to any British members of the public who are not obsessed mobile phone carriers or alcoholics with a serious addiction for Hamburgers. Then again I don't assume that many British people will read these opinions as prevailing apathy will prevent any further incursion beyond this page!

So read and enjoy, and if you feel that you must, then send me an email. Otherwise (and preferably) just read them and start thinking for yourselves..........
